Out Of Season

I was ignominiously schlepping seltzer empties to the recycling bin when it caught me — an importunate, dense aroma compounded of lilacs and innocence, a smell like Spring pervading damp thick October air after a day of showers.

My gentleman holly has had a late bloom.

  1. Our cyclamen has also sprouted late flowers and the day lilies were restarting to grow. Go figure Mother Nature. Cold has come back so the late summer should come to an end now. Anyhow, my snow tires have been put on yesterday.
By the way our malls have begun putting up Christmas decorations and Hallow’Een not even behind us yet.
